Required Equipment

(FREE loaner sticks and goggles are available for all athletes)

  1. Stick

  2. Goggles

—There are 2 sizes for goggles—youth & women’s. If you’re unsure what’s best, you can usually find goggles at Dick’s Sporting Goods to try on.

    Youth goggles

    Women’s goggles (11 & up)

  3. Cleats or athletic shoes

—Cleats are recommended, but not required. Please wear some kind of athletic shoe if not wearing cleats.

—Many youth players wear soccer cleats, which is absolutely fine! You can find lacrosse cleats (mid or high) at Lacrosse Unlimited in Solana Beach. These are more expensive, but highly recommended for middle school players to help prevent ankle rolling. PLEASE be cautious of buying cleats that are too small and/or narrow. Your athlete’s toe should not be bumping the end of the cleat. Always try “wide” unless your athlete has a very narrow foot. This is very important for foot health.

Play It Again Sports or other used sports stores are an excellent option & low investment for sticks and cleats, especially for beginners.

  4. Mouthguard

—Check out the brand new Triad Mouthguard, a San Diego female-owned local brand! This comes with a super handy carrying case.

—For the most inexpensive youth moldable mouthguard online, go HERE. For the most inexpensive moldable adult size online (age 10 or 11 & up), go HERE.

—You can also find $3 moldable mouthguards at Play it Again Sports in Pacific Beach.

—Yes, athletes are now allowed to wear clear or white mouthguards!

USA Lacrosse Membership Required (separate fee)

  • Every athlete is REQUIRED by the league to have a current USA Lacrosse Membership (insurance) through the end of the season (Mid-May). Memberships are $30 and are valid for one year.

  • Register for a membership or find your current membership status HERE.

Cost

  • $TBD

  • If finances are a barrier to your child participating, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Elise@SDGirlsLax.com for reduced rates. Every child deserves to play.

Our Commitment to Your Child

Our coaching staff is deeply committed to providing a comfortable learning environment for your athlete. Burnout, loss of self-confidence, and overall unhappiness with sports is very prevalent in the youth & high school sports world when athletes are pressured into performance, especially at a young age. Your child’s mental & emotional health is my top priority. I also work hard & take pride in ensuring correct fundamentals & skills are learned, which will set your child up for success at any level!

—Coach Elise
